I remember the ‘all fired up’ on Williamstown beach. Still have the pix I took. Yeah, what comes immediatedly to my mind seeing the new level which the ’slogan’ is hoisted to is: “All fired up and going green.”

Patch … “Oh most reverend sir” has a nice ring to it … or “Mighty one” will do… (at a pinch “Bwana” might do – it has a ring to it).
(My nieces and nephews call me “Mr Fox”)
This morning’s Gospel (RCL C, L+2) is a bit disturbing for someone with my name.

Flossie … I am over weddinged and funeralled at present – too tired to think of projects (other than a new set of hifi speakers) … I’ll put it in my diary to think about later
… (a few weeks back I was sitting in a restaurant eyeballing a family at another table, and the thought that the Creation just couldn’t be if any (that’s any) of its created creatures were missing from it – I’m thinking about purpose and intention in the created universe … but thinking very, very slowly … perhaps too complicated for a project)

I’m not sure how to sign off now …………….

LOL, you two! Thanks for all this information. Let me fossick around the net and read up on some of it, and get back into the conversation then. It’s a pretty big theme by the looks of it, and one it appears you are both pretty passionate about, and are having fun with, which is the whole of it. Tune in again soon!

Pain yes, but oddly, in a good way…it is cleansing to have it finally occur after knowing that this was to be the outcome from my first mark on the wall. Like death is a relief somehow from life. Inevitable but not altogether tragic knowing that at least ‘I was there’ once.

The Rev Fox here
A couple corrections – my name is “Anthony” not Tony … that’s what I call myself because it’s my name … Joy (my spouse) calls me “Tony” – I just can’t break her of the habit … I have quipped that you need to sleep with me to call me “Tony”, but in my old and weakened state I have decided to extend the ‘privilege’ to some of my friends (Peitsch friends included) … However, to the world at large I am “Anthony” – or better still, just plain old “Fox” (Of course, the word “plain” doesn’t sit well – those of you who know me know how wonderfully attractive I really am!!)

Secondly – my occupation in my past life … I never explained this adequately to Flossie.
I studied some microbiology and biochemistry, but I worked in the field of plant physiology with a bit of ecology chucked in to keep life interestingly confused.

Now I’m a parish pastor… I have always studied people. If you have sat on a train near me, you’ll have seen me – I’m the person who makes too much eye contact. I study people and analyse them and construct stories about them in my mind. I find this particularly helpful in my present vocation.
(As a child I was found, and measured, to be very intelligent … I still possess a brain the size of a small planet – alas, unfortunately that planet is all but uninhabited … this probably explains why I so often require the kindness and advice of strangers when I journey into strange environments, like supermarkets, railway stations, bus-stops and the like.
But all that is beside the point.
I enjoyed the ‘Celestial Inversions’ project – fun, but look at it carefully – it’s truer than you might think.

Glad you liked ‘Celestial Inversions’! I authored this playful swipe at all things accepted as legitimate by deep thinkers in Western culture with my friend, Rev. Tony Fox, a strange combination of a pastor and displaced micro-biochemist. He had the knowledge of the generations and we share a cynical and twisted sense of humour. You can see some more of its background and a few actual pages if you Google THE IMMORTAL NOW thesis and find the words ‘Celestial Inversions’ in th e text.
